Housing

Meridian’s outreach and prevention efforts seek to meet people where they are by identifying those in the community needing treatment and to engage them in appropriate services in order to prevent deterioration or the need for more intensive care. New Horizons Properties partners with Meridian to offer housing specifically for individuals who are regarded as Chronically Mentally Ill (CMI). Housing and Urban Development (HUD), defines CMI as “as person who has a severe and persistent mental or emotional impairment that substantially limits his or her ability to live independently, and whose impairment could be substantially improved by more suitable housing conditions.”

Joyce House Joyce House is an eight-unit group home for women with emotional disabilities who need and/or prefer a long-term supportive environment in an Immediate Care Facility.
Transitions House Transitions House is a 15-bed group home for persons with emotional disabilities, offering transitional housing for those whose disability results in conduct or behavior that may put their tendency at risk in housing arrangements with a lesser degree of clinical support.
The Lodge at Meridian The Lodge is adjacent to Meridian’s main campus in Gainesville providing temporary housing for Meridian patients who are currently receiving Partial Hospital or Intensive Outpatient services and lack a safe and stable place to stay during treatment.
Neighborhood Stabilization Program The Meridian Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) was established through the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 in an effort to combat some of the challenges associated with a declining economy and escalating foreclosure rates.
