Mothers Intensive Supportive Treatment (MIST) is a multi-faceted treatment program for pregnant and parenting women who struggle with addiction. The program is housed at the Sid Martin Bridge House in Gainesville. In the MIST program, infants stay with their mother, allowing for the crucial bonding that takes place in the early months of development while providing the opportunity for the mother to participate in treatment and remain drug-free during nursing.
The program strives to empower women to become self-sufficient, responsible mothers who are capable of creating a bright future for themselves and their children. Women admitted into the program will remain in the residential component of the program for 6-12 months and then are referred to a less intensive level of care. Treatment is individualized to the needs of the client and their family.
