Additionally, the disease itself requires disease management skills – understanding triggers to symptoms, managing medication, and learning to make healthy choices in areas such as diet, exercise, and sleep through education, practice and peer support. Participants develop highly individualized recovery plans that target those skills and areas of functioning that are barriers to resuming a full life in the community.
